Description: This course will be focused on enhancing the attendee’s
understanding of basic EAF operations along with the technologies
typically applied in EAF steelmaking.
Maintenance requirements will
be reviewed with respect to EAF electrical and mechanical
components, as well as the importance of auxiliary equipment
maintenance on optimum furnace performance.
In addition, one session
will focus on the aspects of meltshop trouble-shooting and will be
complemented with examples related to EAF operations.
The class will
provide a good overview of the interaction between maintenance and
operating requirements and will be useful to both operators and
maintenance personnel alike.
